SportPesa overview
SportPesa is the brand that built the modern Kenyan betting market, and after its licensing turbulence and relaunch it has operated with the compliance posture of a company that has already been through a regulatory shutdown. What we can no longer do is quote its licence number. On 9 September 2026 the licence block in the site footer rendered empty, and the visible licence text we could find referred to a South African entity rather than to a Kenyan BCLB permission. We have therefore removed the number this site previously published rather than restate something we cannot check.
The reason to hold the account is the in-play book. SportPesa carries more markets per match than anything else in Kenya — corners, cards, next-goal windows, player props on the bigger fixtures — and prices them fast enough to bet on. Pre-match football pricing on the marquee leagues is strong. That depth is observable directly on the site, and it is the one thing about SportPesa we can describe from direct observation while declining to publish its terms.
The mega jackpot remains the reason a large share of Kenyan accounts exist at all, and SportPesa runs it with published prize structures and settlement rules rather than discretionary payouts. Treat it as entertainment spending: the expected value on a seventeen-match slip is decisively negative, and jackpot stakes do not usually contribute to bonus turnover.
On promotions we are showing nothing. This site previously carried a 100% up to Ksh 30,000 offer at 15x turnover; we could not confirm those terms on SportPesa's own pages during this check, so they have been withdrawn rather than softened. Read the current promotions page on sportpesa.co.ke and treat the terms there as the only authority.
Operationally the platform is solid and light — the mobile site loads on a weak connection better than most rivals' apps, and M-Pesa deposits clear immediately. Support is competent but formal, with ticket-style handling and strict document checks before a first withdrawal.
Pros and cons
What works
- + Deepest in-play market list available in Kenya
- + Strong pricing on mainstream football with the deepest live book in Kenya
- + Transparent, published jackpot rules and settlement
- + Lightweight mobile site that works on a poor connection
What doesn’t
- − Licence block renders empty; the visible licence text refers to a South African entity
- − Welcome bonus terms could not be verified, so we publish none
- − No standing cashback or loss rebate we can evidence
- − Ksh 500,000 daily ceiling is mid-table

Verdict on SportPesa
SportPesa is the account for people who bet live and want market depth. The pricing is genuinely good and the in-play book is the best in the country. But we could not verify a Kenyan BCLB licence number on its own site on 9 September 2026, and we could not confirm the welcome terms this site used to quote, so both have been removed rather than restated. Use it for the markets, verify the licence and the terms yourself before depositing, and keep your loyalty value somewhere that publishes it.
